Six Weeks Meeting

Welcome to Six Weeks Meeting

Six Weeks Meeting is a Quaker institution dating back to 1671. It does not fit neatly into the modern pattern of Quaker structures, but instead is made up of representatives from the area meetings within Quakers in London.

Its main objective is to maintain, preserve, and insure the places of worship of the constituent area meetings, and their contents, and is accountable to the constituent meetings for the stewardship of the funds and assets it holds on their behalf.

It may communicate formally by minute with the constituent area meetings, Meeting for Sufferings and Yearly Meeting.

The constituent area meetings are currently North London; North West London; Kingston & Wandsworth; Purley & Sutton; North East Thames; South East London; and London West. Each appoints 2-3 representatives to Six Weeks Meeting. The normal period of appointment or re-appointment is five years. These Friends are individually managing trustees of the properties and financial assets in the care of Six Weeks Meeting
